The past few weeks, my kids have been waking up at the crack of dawn, no joke. Okay I'm probably off, but whatever. Most days, recently, they wake up around 6. Some days they've woken up at 5:30. Usually I'll hear my younger son waking up, then waking up his older brother. Occasionally, he'll sit and "read" for a minute before he decides he's bored and wants his older playmate to join the fun. Because of this annoying schedule, I've started setting their breakfast out from the night before, so I don't have to actually be awake when they wake up at their alien hour (I usually can buy myself maybe 1 more hour of sleep). No matter how late they have slept, like clockwork, by 6 AM they're both magically up.
Today was no exception. I ignored them for a bit because I set out their breakfast, although that didn't stop them from sneaking into the kitchen (they've jimmied the gate : / ) and snacking on the forbidden pantry items. After I got up we played in the basement for a few hours, and I took the two year old up for a nap around noon. Big brother was (as usual) starving, so I gave him some quiche and fruit. I went to the bathroom and came back out to find him asleep on the sofa, with a blanket on top. It was a miracle. I don't know what to do with myself, both of them are asleep in the middle of the day. So I'm blogging, uninterrupted. It's so nice :D
