The Sights and Sounds of Motherhood
When you become a mother, you eventually begin to develop a sixth sense when it comes to your children. You begin to recognize certain sounds and know exactly what your kids are doing (or certain smells for that matter). Then when you tell the kids to stop doing such and such, they're amazed at how you know about the havoc they have been wreaking. No sound means utter destruction in most cases. Like right now, the loud thudding coming from the upstairs bedroom is the boys playing one of their favorite games, Let's Throw Our Hardback Books at Each Other. This game usually ends in my younger son crying, we'll see how it plays out...
