Seven Minutes in Heaven
As a mother, taking a shower can be a extravagance. It was the one thing that really made me feel like a human being, in the morning, after a longggg night up with the kids. I used to take long, luxurious showers, BC (before children). After they came along, I realized that there was not much time to waste, when it came to my morning ritual. These days, I'm in, shampooed, conditioned, scrubbed, and changed in about seven minutes. My seven minutes in heaven (on a good day). Those days happen a few times a week. Usually, the norm is for me to hop in the shower and hear, "Mama!" Or someone comes and bangs on the door requesting food, electronics, or to beat up their brother. The worst is when you hear the hurt cry and have to rush even those short seven minutes. That's why I love my night showers, when I can take a long 10 minute shower instead. Ahh I know, what a luxury...
